Warmed Pumpkin Apple Smoothie Recipe
If you know me, then you know I’ll all about comfort foods. When the weather starts to dip I’ll make anything and everything warm - soups, pizzas, and my favorite, teas. Enjoying a warm cup of tea in the evenings, curled up under a blanket with fuzzy socks and possibly a pup is my FAVORITE way to spend a winter evening.
Since my working schedule has kind of bounced around and strayed away from an average 9-5, I find myself working more into the evenings. Working late and while it’s cold out is not only a bit frustrating, but I have so much trouble finding the energy to power through. I’ve been turning to my more caffeinated and energizing teas to keep me going and my favorites are Nebula Mate.
Thanks to Matt Javidi of Nebula Mate, he helped create the most perfect warm smoothie for a late night work sesh. It’s made with his blend of Honey Apple Chai, a naturally energizing blend of yerba mate and chai tea, apples and organic pumpkin.
Ingredients:
1 bag Nebula Mate Honey Apple Chai
1 cup water
½ cup almond milk
1.5 tbsp pumpkin butter OR 1 tbsp of pumpkin puree + 2 tsp of maple syrup
1 organic apple
¼ tsp cinnamon
Directions:
Heat water in a kettle and brew tea bags according to directions.
While the tea is brewing, peel, core, and dice the apple.
Add the milk and diced apple to a microwave safe cup and heat in microwave for 75 seconds.
Combine all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
